I'm here to help you navigate life's transitions and challenges
Although we all experience change, it doesn't mean that we can always effectively handle the stress of transition. Sometimes we feel "lost at sea". With support, you can learn to surf the waves of change, steer in the direction that is right for you, and find the clarity, creativity and humor to help you stay afloat.
With over 30 years of counseling adults I know that "one size does not fit all" and I tailor my methods and style to meet the needs of each client. I believe in the ability of each person to find his or her way by building on their strengths and increasing their ability to be resilient. Connecting with others, building new skills, learning to improvise in meeting life's challenges, and finding the humor, even in life's dark times, are all ways of staying emotionally healthy during those stressful times. My intention is to build a supportive, trustworthy, and meaningful relationship with my clients so they feel understood and safe as they explore and confront the issues and concerns they are dealing with.
I will be there for you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, you can recover the motivation, perspective, and effective functioning that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. I can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
I am trained in EMDR as well as other methods of working with trauma
I also work with artists, writers, performers and anyone who wants to explore their creative side. I can help with creative blocks, performance anxiety, and specific issues of the "artist's lifestyle" and how it might affect relationships. Perhaps your partner is upset because you are always rehearsing or writing or painting or......
These can include grief and loss, relationship and interpersonal communication, caregiving, self-identity, stress management, midlife transitions, job problems, chronic and life threatening illness, and general "worries" as well as depression, anxiety, trauma, and personal self-exploration.
I am LBGTQ friendly
I accept many different insurance and EAP payments. Private pay fee is $95 - however I am willing to work with clients and can slide my fee to what is affordable and workable for both of us. Please talk with me about any fee concerns. If there is a payment, I accept fees at our session by credit, debit, or HSA card as well as cash or check if we meet in person.
At this time I am doing telemental health (secure video chat as well as telephone) counseling only.
